Surface Pro 2 Ethernet Adapter Driver Download Install Update
I realize this is probably the wrong place to ask questions on Surface Pro 4 drivers. But apparently the Surface team never bothered with forums for anything past Surface 2. Problem is the only driver I've been able to find is 8.
I finally found the location to load drivers from at https: Problem is that package doesn't even include the Surface Ethernet Adapter, let alone the new version.
I have found that there is a version 8. Does anyone have a link to a full set of drivers for Surface Pro 4? Thanks for the suggestion Kate Li. But the Surface Pro 3 pack doesn't have the up to date Ethernet driver either. To anyone else having to create driver packs for Surface Pro's the only viable option appears right now to take one of the computers out of the box, update the OS, drivers, etc Then use the Driver Store to build the driver package. I should point out, all of the devices we have been getting are loaded with Windows July, , which do not have the updated Ethernet Driver.
Only by upgrading to and then updating the drivers do you get to where you need to be. For consumers this works ok. I honestly wish Microsoft would stop telling Enterprise customers that Surface Pro's are Enterprise class, because Microsoft support for Enterprise simply isn't there.
I was able to get a copy of the new version of the driver by pulling one from a Windows 10 computer's DriverStore. But I'd like to have a more consistent, and reliable answer. I would be able to pull down a set of drivers, in many cases already packaged up for consumption by SCCM.
Rather than being the worst example of how to do it. First, thanks for your efforts and what you have done to find the correct driver in driver store. I understand that it's inconvenient for you ITpro to prepare the deployment environment for driver store. I am not sure why Microsoft doesn't publish the standalone installer of Ethernet Adapter driver, consider if it will be released later. Also, I noticed that some users have similar user as yours, but they can use this one for Surface Pro 3 without problem.
Sorry to say that I have no surface environment for test, but you can try it:. Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact tnmff microsoft.
I can help to post the feedback in our platform, also you can speak out your suggestions in Windows Feedback, Microsoft will always listen to the users.
It's identified and requires no download or none that I saw. The one I'm using is only USB 2. I am on Win10 WIP That's probably because its fairly old and Windows has drivers for it. My problem in particular was finding the driver that supported the new dock station so that I can load into the WinPE boot. Most computers only recognize the network adapter in the computer, or if external like the Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 1 through a USB Ethernet sold by that company.

Today I have a quick blog on some important deployment information regarding the Surface Ethernet Drivers. This blog will discuss where to get the drivers. Just wanted to update this blog with the latest information. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Thank you for providing this write up. It took some digging before I found it, but looks to have the information needed to address an issue that has come up repeatedly for me. Using the same dock, we can swap tablets out for ones that have not been refreshed only updated , and the Ethernet port appears and works without fail, so we know it is something with the tablet itself. In attempting to force install the driver and device, I was unable to get Win10 to display any models of network adapter when pointing at the INFs you provided. Do you have any other suggestions on how to add this network adapter after the fact, or do we need to plan to wipe the device and re-imaging with the files provided added to the USB system image, and cross our fingers that it will recognize another piece of hardware exists when we dock it?
